Every album is built the same way, whichever cover you choose. The choices further down are about how it looks and feels in your hands.

Size
35 × 35 cm, square.
Pages
Rigid 800 g pages. They don’t bend, curl or yellow.
Paper
Hahnemühle FineArt, matte. No glare, deep blacks, soft skin tones. Comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
Binding
Lay-flat. The album opens completely flat, so one photograph can run across both pages without a fold through the middle.
Opening
A sheet of tracing paper printed with your names and date, the first thing you see when you open the cover.
Content
24 spreads, 40 to 60 photographs. Few enough that every image gets room on the page.

Buckram

A tightly woven cotton with a fine, visible texture. Matte, soft to the touch and quiet in a room. The most understated of the three.

Genuine leather

Italian leather with a waxed finish. Every hide marks differently, so no two covers are the same, and it gains character the more it is handled.

Your album arrives in a box made to its exact size. All three open from the side like a book and sit on a wooden rim. What sets them apart is the material, and the lid can carry your names or date.

Fly

Fabric & lacquer

Opens out into two frames, one of which holds the album. The frame is lacquered white, black or oak, and shows as a clean line along the edge of the box.

Caribe

Fully covered

Covered entirely in one material, rim included, so nothing interrupts the surface. Black on black, or matched to your album cover. The quietest of the three.

Arno

Tuscan leather

The same Italian leather as the album cover, over a reinforced wooden rim. A satin ribbon lifts the album out. The most luxurious of the three.

Two smaller copies of your album: the same design, the same photographs and the same cover, at 20 × 20 cm. There is no second selection and no extra work for you. They are made together with your own album and arrive at the same time.

From your gallery to the album on your table. Your part takes one evening and one look at a preview. The rest is mine.

    Your full gallery arrives online. Take your time with it first, without thinking about the album.

    In the gallery you flag 40 to 60 photographs for the album. Three things that make it easier:

    • Spread your choice across the whole day.
    • From a series of the same moment, keep one.
    • Choose on feeling. Sharpness and light are my job.

    Your finish

    You send me your cover, colour and box, and the text for the cover and the tracing paper sheet.

    I put the photographs in the order the day moved and give each one the space it needs. You receive a digital preview of every spread.

    We go through the preview together and make one round of adjustments. Then you approve it.

    The album is printed and bound by hand, then delivered with its box. Parent albums arrive with it.
