helena & michiel

gent — oude vismijn

a wedding day shaped by soft spring light and the timeless beauty of gent. both mornings unfolded in their own rhythm: michiel getting ready with family in the quiet of aaigem, helena surrounded by warmth inside the historic rooms of the post hotel. her dress, shoes and jewellery laid out with intention — an understated scene that already hinted at how elegant the day would become.

their first look happened inside the post hotel, in the grand staircase hall — warm light, high ceilings, quiet anticipation. a moment that felt intimate despite the scale of the space. the kind of setting that naturally turns emotion into something cinematic.

their photoshoot stayed indoors — moving between the staircase hall, the quiet hallways of the post and the cobbler bar, where dark wood, warm lighting and velvet textures shaped a refined, editorial atmosphere. afterwards, as they made their way to the ceremony, we captured a few frames on the sint-michielsbrug — the city opening up behind them, just before everything shifted into celebration.

afterwards, they left knokke with the windows down, bouquets held high, driving through the tree-lined roads towards the countryside — a spontaneous moment that instantly became part of their story.

the afternoon celebration took place at huyze de baere in maldegem, surrounded by gardens and rose-covered walls. guests arrived to a greenhouse set for an intimate ceremony, with live music by blueberry diamond carrying through the space.

eline entered with her father, jason with his mother — a thoughtful detail in the structure merveil designed. what followed was a series of personal stories, readings, and music. heartfelt speeches from sisters and friends, quiet moments, and soft laughter shaped the ceremony. their vows were exchanged in the centre aisle, intimate and honest, followed by rings, a kiss, and warm applause.

outside, sunlight filled the courtyard as guests formed an aisle. petals in the air, big smiles, that just-married energy — a moment that carried effortlessly into the reception.

drinks in the garden, portraits between the flowers, conversations under the trees — the rest of the day blended ease and elegance, exactly the atmosphere their story deserved.

a wedding that fits naturally within the documentary, honest style of narrare. weddings — unposed, warm and captured exactly as it felt.
